JRS has enjoyed a good year (2008) in terms of Sale and Purchase and Ship Finance work completing a number of sales by Hong Kong owners to purchaser clients from Thailand, Italy, Greece and Spain.

In the Hong Kong Courts, the Firm has been busy in a number of insolvency matters for US companies and has seen an increase in the amount of arbitration work coming in for both Hong Kong and London references.

At the beginning of September 2007, JRS was joined by Maxine Chu as an associate who has just been admitted as a solicitor of the High Court of Hong Kong.

Mark Pierrepont joined JRS as a partner of the Firm at the end of November 2007.

In mid February 2008, Bella Lam joined JRS as an associate.

Neil Everatt formerly a partner with Lawrence Graham in the UK and Ukraine joined JRS as a consultant on 9 May 2008.

JRS has recently acted for a Middle East based Oil Major in successfully settling a dispute arising out of the supply of jet fuel to Hong Kong International Airport.
