The partners of the law firms Oldham, Li & Nie and Jonathan Rostron, Solicitors are pleased to announce that an association has been formed between the two law firms, effective 1st August 2009.?
The two firms together will comprise 25 lawyers and consultants with offices in Hong Kong and Shanghai.

We are pleased to announced that as of 1st August 2009, we have entered into an association with Hong Kong solicitors Oldham, Li & Nie (OLN), a full service law firm known for its commercial litigation, corporate and employment practices. OLN also has a licensed office in Shanghai which is well known for its shipyard and shipbuilding practice.
We also welcome the return of our associate solicitor, Maxine Chu.

We
are very pleased to announce that Raj Selvaskandan has
joined the firm with effect from 1st October 2008 as
a Consultant. Raj was previously a partner with Hong
Kong law firm Philip K.H. Wong, Kennedy Y.H. Wong & Co
and has worked as an adviser to a joint venture between
a Hong Kong listed company subsidiary and a US private
equity fund which is developing 5 hotels/casinos in Macau.
Raj practises in the areas of banking, corporate and
litigation. He has strong links to the Indian business
community in the Hong Kong and has acted for Hong Kong
universities, banks, insurance companies as well as a
number of listed companies in Hong Kong. Raj is also
admitted in England and Wales and Sri Lanka, the country
of his birth.
JRS has enjoyed a good
year (2008) in terms of Sale and Purchase and Ship Finance
work completing a number of sales by Hong Kong owners
to purchaser clients from Thailand, Italy, Greece and
Spain.
In the Hong Kong Courts, the Firm has been busy in a
number of insolvency matters for US companies and has
seen an increase in the amount of arbitration work coming
in for both Hong Kong and London references.
At the beginning of September 2007, JRS was joined by
Maxine Chu as an associate who has just been admitted
as a solicitor of the High Court of Hong Kong.
Mark Pierrepont joined JRS as a partner of the Firm at
the end of November 2007.
In mid February 2008, Bella Lam joined JRS as an associate.
Neil Everatt formerly a partner with Lawrence Graham
in the UK and Ukraine joined JRS as a consultant on 9
May 2008.
JRS has recently acted for a Middle East based Oil Major
in successfully settling a dispute arising out of the
supply of jet fuel to Hong Kong International Airport.
