| Mark Pierrepont
Mark Pierrepont (Partner) was admitted as a solicitor in England in 1983 and in Hong Kong in 1992. He qualified whilst at Gregory, Rowcliffe & Co. of 1 Bedford Row, London WCl and , after gaining about 3 years post-qualification experience in litigation work, he moved to Thomson, Snell & Passmore, being a large UK firm with its Head Office in Tunbridge Wells, Kent. Having become a partner at Thomson, Snell & Passmore and gained a further 5 years or so experience in commercial, property and general civil litigation work, Mark moved to Victor Chu & Co. in Hong Kong in July 1991 (with his admission being 6 months later in January 1992). He stayed with Victor Chu & Co. for over 16 years working as a consultant and specialising in commercial litigation work, until he joined Jonathan Rostron Solicitors at the beginning of November 2007, becoming a partner of the firm later in the same month.
Mark was educated at Eastbourne College in E. Sussex, UK and, after obtaining a BA (Hons) in London, he attended Law College in Guildford. After passing his law finals, he then got his legal career underway as an assistant solicitor at Gregory, Rowcliffe & Co.
During his 24 years in practice, Mark has handled numerous and varied litigation and arbitration matters, and has represented clients on many cases before Masters and Judges in the High Court and District Court and also before arbitrators. As well as handling all types of commercial litigation matters, he acts for clients involved in construction disputes (more often than not pursuing sub-contractors' claims).
Mark has 2 children, a girl aged 13 and a boy aged 11. His interests outside the law include most sports, especially rugby and cricket. He has been a member of the Hong Kong Cricket Club for many years.
